Hi!  My name is Sarah Hogg.

I have been married for 18 years to my handsome farmer; Norris Hogg.  Together, we have 3 beautiful girls – Kallie, Lizah, and Emsley. We live on the Hogg farm just west of Elnora where we are part of the Hogg family mixed farm operation.

I am beyond thrilled to be returning to Elnora School in 2025/2026 as Elnora School's principal!!! Words cannot express my immense joy in accepting this honourable position.  :)

I first joined Chinook's Edge in 2006 following my graduation from the University of Alberta & Red Deer Polytechnic combined program.  Since that time, I have served Elnora School and CESD as a dedicated teacher, coach, educational assistant, volunteer and mentor.  I have also spent time as an early childhood educator and play school teacher in both Trochu and Elnora schools.  All throughout these endeavours, my passion has always been for Elnora School and all the people in it, including the many parents and community members that make up our amazing school family.  I love to collaborate with others to create powerful learning opportunities for kids and ignite all who are around me with energy and drive to be the best they can be.  I am currently pursuing more leadership and educational learning through the Developing Leaders program.  I also graduated in May 2025, with my Masters of Literacy through the University of British Columbia.  I am dedicated to our small but mighty school and am thrilled to be continuing my teaching career as a passionate leader alongside our incredible staff, students, parents, community members and stakeholders.

I am so excited to be teaching grade 5/6 ELA & L and Science again this year. As well as Grade 7/8 Science and Grades 5-8 Art.  I have always been passionate about teaching from playing school with my siblings at home, to pursing my dreams of teaching. I truly love the energy and spark that children bring into every room and the learning they can soak up and transpire on others.  If only the world was full of children's enthusiasm and dreams... Teaching is my way of trying to teach the world to be a better place, grow strong humans academically and personally, sharing my love of children, and in turn keeping me a child at heart.

When I am not at school, you can find me working on the farm, running my photography business, and chasing my girls around to their favorite after school activities.  I live a busy life like anyone else and wouldn't want it any other way.

Here's to another new school year, as we take steps towards success together!
