• Homework assignments can be expected on almost a daily basis in one or more subject
areas. If homework is not coming home it may be advisable to contact the teacher involved
and ask if your son/daughter is receiving homework and if it is being completed.
• It is important that assignments sent home be completed on time in order for the teacher to
ascertain whether of not the student has grasped the skill or concept taught. Homework
provides parents with the opportunity to see their son's/daughter's school work.
• If a student is absent from school it is the student's responsibility to obtain the homework,
notes or assignments which were given during the absence. In the case of a prolonged
absence, please advise the school and arrangements can be made for work to be sent
home.
• Assignments such as reports, essays and projects are marked and count towards a
student's report card mark. Homework is also noted as complete or incomplete and counts
towards a student's mark. For these reasons it is important that all assigned work be
completed and handed in on time. If for some legitimate reason work is unable to be
completed, a note signed by a parent and dated should be sent to the teacher who gave
the assignment or homework.
